Getting the opportunity to hear stories and experiences from productions I've so fondly looked to as proof that what I dream can be created in the greatest ways was exhilarating. I was blown away to hear something new about Iron Man's VFX pipeline in that it was only ONE freelancer who got the idea of the helmet to work right visually. With how high that movie is held on a pedestal for visual effects nowadays, it can not be understated how important the ideology that one man could accomplish such a technical feat in rendering and texturing. This being 99% of the class today was fun. I got to take some decent pictures for the BTS folder, which I hope nobody hates my style of photo editing as I've had issues with DP's in the past asking for raw BTS photos because of it which was honestly pretty funny, and hear great tips and tricks.
There is, however, an unfortunate 1% left. After the call with Felix Jorge it became very apparent that some who previously gave off the impression of not doing a lot of research into what we were doing before Friday's meeting, nor talk or listen to very many people in the class at all, still aren't making efforts to read up on what we are doing/deciding as a crew. This isn't to put anyone on blast, rather to state what worries me about the future of our project. I would hope everyone is making the effort to keep up on Slack and all it is we're doing as a collective crew and refrain from taking time out of future classes to backtrack and explain decisions made outside of class.
Overall, everything feels like it's running on the intended schedule and no issues are really surfacing, merely seeds that may sprout into later ones. The story team left off in a very good spot before leaving class earlier and I do believe in our upcoming meeting tomorrow we will nail down the official story layout and begin delegating the script to the three of us individually.
